Tony Harden - Director

Tony qualified as a solicitor in 2002. Tony is also a Higher Courts Advocate and has worked on many notable cases over the years allowing him to gain insightful prospective for a vast range of offences.

Tony's work includes acting as Junior Counsel at the Old Bailey in the £53million Securitas robbery trial. Tony represented one of the two defendants who were acquitted of the charges.

As well as Tony's legal work he is dedicated, as director of the firm, to ensuring clients feel they are receiving a professional and personal service while they are with Gurney Harden and will often greet and deal with clients personally.

Andrew Gurney - Director

Andrew qualified as a solicitor in 2006. Andrew is a qualified Duty Solicitor and Higher Courts Advocate but as director of the firm he also ensures that clients experience a professional and effective service throughout the course of their individual case with Gurney Harden.

With extensive experience at court, Andrew undertakes work ranging from traffic offences to allegations of a more serious nature such as crimes of violence and serious sexual violence offences.

Andrew specialises in benefit fraud and regulatory crime, attending licensing and regulatory tribunals and committee hearings, where he specialises in alcohol and taxi law.

Nigel Numas - Assistant Solicitor

Nigel qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and joined Gurney Harden as a criminal defence lawyer. Nigel is also a qualified Duty Solicitor and provides advice and assistance in all aspects of criminal law.

Nigel regularly attends Magistrates' and Youth Courts and his expertise allows him to provide excellent client care, ensuring clients are provided with help from before their case starts through to trial, if necessary.

Alan Land - Assistant Solicitor

Alan originally trained as a Barrister and was called to the bar by Middle Temple in 2008. He made the decision to cross qualify as a solicitor in 2011. Alan Land is now also a Duty Solicitor for Gurney Harden.

Alan's case loads range from minor offences through to serious crime including large scale drug importations and serious violent offences.

Alan specialises in cases involving social media such as Twitter and Facebook, including 'trolling' and contempt of court proceedings. Alan also has experience of private prosecutions of offences in this area and obtaining orders preventing further harassment.

Donald Worsley - Solicitor Advocate, Private Client Consultant

Donald qualified as a solicitor in 1984 and is Gurney Harden's private client consultant. Donald is also a Higher Court Advocate.

With over twenty years practice, Donald has a wealth of experience as a trial lawyer including work in Magistrates' and Crown Courts.

Donald's attention to detail is second to none, as is his commanding presence within the courtroom.

Robert Welsh - Duty Solicitor

Robert specialises in Youth Court matters and is particularly adept at trial advocacy involving younger clients. As well as general crime he is also a specialist in Prison law and related matters.

Iqbal Kang - B.A. (Hons.) LL.M. – Consultant Solicitor

Iqbal was educated in Tamworth, Staffordshire and thereafter graduated with a dual Honours degree in Law and Criminology from Keele University and then graduated with a Master of Laws degree in Commercial Law from the University of Birmingham. He then completed his professional qualifications at The College of Law. He was admitted a Solicitor in April 2009 and specialises in serious crime and prison law.

Iqbal is one of the country's leading prison law specialists and he has been approved by the Legal Services Commission as a Prison Law Supervisor. He represents some of Britain's most dangerous prisoners and regularly represents the interests of prisoners before the Parole Board for England and Wales and the Independent Adjudicator in respect of prison disciplinary proceedings.

Iqbal specialises in the defence of the most serious criminal offences and he is frequently instructed in the most notorious cases. Consequently he is a much sought after solicitor who commands a national client base of very loyal clients.

Richard Graham - BSc. (Hons) - Trainee Solicitor

Richard joined Gurney Harden in 2012 and has quickly established himself as a hard-working and capable member of the firm.

Richard is also a fully-qualified Police Station Representative and has over 14 years' experience dealing with matters at police stations; affording him the experience and knowledge to provide an exceptional service to clients charged with a range of offences from simple criminal damage to murder. He specialises in ensuring that the rules in relation to obtaining evidence and procedure have been followed by police.

Richard believes that client care is a priority and always endeavours to be available to his clients for any enquiries they may have.

Amanda Dannahy - Case Analyst / Accredited Police Station Representative

Amanda has been with Gurney Harden since it formed in 2008 and is an accredited Police Station Representative.

As a case analyst, Amanda handles a range of cases from minor offences to the more serious allegations of rape, drug importation and murder. Amanda has a large success rate with her cases; including a client last year who was acquitted of murder.

As well as being dedicated to the running of the police station work undertaken at Gurney Harden, Amanda also ensures she has time to manage case progression for Crown Court Cases.

Sammie O'Blein - Accredited Police Station Rep/Secretary

Sammie joined Gurney Harden in 2009 and deals with the day to day running of the office. Sammie also handles general enquiries regarding all types of cases and has recently become an accredited Police Station Representative.

Sammie's enthusiasm and dedication to law allows her to perform above and beyond her secretarial duties, providing clients with helpful information and advice at first contact with the firm and for the duration of the case with Gurney Harden.

Kate Hunter

Kate studied Law at the University of York and is currently undertaking the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, London.

Kate joined Gurney Harden in June 2012 on work experience and uses her initiative to get involved in all aspects of day-to-day running of the office.

Kate undertakes legal research on behalf of the solicitors of the firm and often shadows in the Magistrates' and undertakes clerking duties in the Crown Courts.
